A Play, A Pie and A Pint - Spirit of Adventure

Work:: A Play, A Pie and A Pint (S680605636)

Emerging and experienced writers present short new plays presented by the best actors and directors. The A Play, a Pie and a Pint series are script in hand readings of brand new plays from the region's most exciting playwrights. Enjoy the play with a pie and a pint (or a soft drink!)

Production:: Spirit of Adventure (T0153655758)

The first of the two, Spirit of Adventure is a touching, humorous tale set around the 1912 voyage to the South Pole led by Captain Robert Scott and his 63 fellow explorers. Told through the eyes of an inquisitive addition to the team, the story of the journey unfolds to the backdrop of the harsh Antarctic conditions. This year marks the centenary of the Terra Nova expedition to the South Pole with Spirit of Adventure being part of the Scott 100 programme of events. So, there really isn't a better time or place to enjoy this tale of the last heroes of the Golden Age of Exploration. Spirit of Adventure will be performed in the Discovery Point visitors centre auditorium, an intimate venue that will immerse you in the spirit of this one man show. Performances last approximately 50 minutes and the price of your ticket includes a pie (or vegetarian option) and a pint or a soft drink or glass of wine.
