Write to Play events focus on a prolific playwright, changing venues each time and striving to give audiences the opportunity to engage with playwrights. Following the success of Write to Play, presenting leading playwrights in venues across London, the series will continue at the Soho Theatre on Wednesday 4th May at 8.pm with Laura Wade. She will be in conversation with Chris Campbell, Literary Manager of the Royal Court, about her life, career and work, prior to scenes from her play Kreutzer Vs. Kreutzer being read. The evening will conclude with a question and answer session. Born in Sheffield and a graduate of the Royal Court Young Writers Programme, Laura Wade gained early success with Colder Than Here at Soho Theatre (2005) and Breathing Corpses at the Royal Court (2005), for which she won the Critics’ Circle Most Promising Playwright Award. Her play Posh ran to rave reviews and sell-out audiences at the Royal Court in 2010. Laura’s writing is darkly funny and keenly observant and is fast making her one of our most exciting talents. Other plays include: Other Hands (Soho Theatre, 2006); and Catch (Royal Court, 2006). Write to Play events focus on a contemporary playwright, changing venues each time and striving to give audiences the opportunity to engage with playwrights.
