Jan Blake - T9231147Jan Blake is Britain's most outstanding female storyteller, in demand throughout Europe, the Caribbean and America. Born in Manchester to Jamaican parents, she was inspired by recordings of the late, and very great "Miss Lou" (Louise Bennett). Jan burst into the professional storytelling scene in the mid-1980s, rapidly gaining a reputation for witty and exhilarating performances. She draws her repertoire from West Africa, North Africa, the Arab world and the Caribbean: her versions of the exploits of Ananse the spiderman are definitive.
