Whatever your political colours, whichever side of the aisle you stand on, it's clear to everyone that the city and the country we live in is radically changing. Everything is shifting. For theatres like West Yorkshire Playhouse and for the companies involved in transform there is an opportunity to re-imagine and reinvent, to be challenging and inspirational. The invitation to Alan Lane at Slung Low and Kully Thiarai to transform the Courtyard theatre for a time, will transform how we make work through collaboration. As our world is transformed around us, so theatre must transform too; finding new ways of creating works, of telling stories, of connecting audiences and artists. We are planning work on and off the stage; work inside and outside of the building; pieces that last one hour and others that last two weeks; interactive installations and performances in the dark. A lot of it will be made right here in Yorkshire, some of it from our friends further afield. We can't wait to get started, and I hope you'll be able to join us. It wouldn't be the same without you.
