This Fundraiser for Terapia Centre - a psychotherapeutic centre of excellence for young people and children - brings together comedy and living graphic novel animation, songs, live scores and live special effects. Five comedians present their unique and inimitable take on the stand-up form: Sarah Sheldon (finalist, Jewish Comedian of the Year 2014), Nalika de Silva, who follows her sell-out show at the Camden Fringe, Me, Bill Nighy and the Goblin, the 'self-assured and smart' Chicago native, Cynthia Levin, arch and acidic newcomer, Calen Harlley, and Philip Cowell, 'a very bright spark, who likes a lark' (John Hegley). In the second half of the evening, the Cabinet of Living Cinema take to the floor to present Theatre of the Wandering West, a living graphic novel in the centenary year of the publication of "The Metamorphosis" exploring Kafka's encounter with the Yiddish theatre in Prague, 1911 through Yiddish songs, live sound effects and live score including some roaring klezmer numbers. The piece is intercut with excerpts from seminal Yiddish film, The Dybbuk (1937), and is followed by a programme of short films by Russian, Czech, German and British animators entitled "Die Verwandlung" which explores the insect world and the beauty and terror of transformation.
