This Halloween, Brunel' s ss Great Britain and Bristol Old Vic collaborate to create a voyage of fear. Visitors are invited to step aboard the Victorian ss Great Britain and spend a spine-chilling evening exploring the shadowy corridors and creepy cabins at night. The ship has enjoyed over 170 years of adventure, travelled a million miles at sea and been around the world 32 times. Thousands of passengers and crew have lived, worked and died within her enormous iron hull, and every single one has a spooky story to tell. Taking inspiration from the diaries of people who travelled on board the ss Great Britain, performers from Made in Bristol, will populate the ship and the Great Western Dockyard with hair-raising Victorian characters. Also, on the night (17:00-21:00), the Dockyard Cafe Bar will be given a spooky Halloween make-over; serving a selection of themed food and drinks. Entry to the cafe is free and makes for a perfect pre-show meal - or somewhere to settle the nerves with a stiff drink afterwards!
