Musical philanthropists Sue Ryder and Dr Bernardo host an evening of strange and unexpected delights, exploring discarded and forgotten gems found over the years in the crates and cardboard boxes of charity shops. In return for STDs, Christian guilt and rats, the new-found Americas and Pacific Islands gave their guests music as exotic and inviting as their women. The Doctor and Sue will host an evening of exotica; the soundtrack to Gauguin s knob falling off and precursors to Miss Lee making Fever sound sexy. So don your Pith Helmet and come along to see if you can spot the songbird of the Andes, Yma Sumac, and judge for yourself whether she was the 20th century reincarnation of the ancient voice of the Xtabay or Amy Camus, Brooklyn housewife and Yma spelled backwards. The jungle and her mysteries await you.
