Proscenium is a scratch of the first stages of a site-specific work Lundahl and Seitl are making for Dramaten', The Royal National Theater in Stockholm. In this new work, the company take inspiration from Arnold Bockling's enigmatic painting, Toten Insel, a masterpiece that also formed the backdrop for August Strindberg's unfamiliar script that never was completed. Focusing on the transference that takes place between actor and audience; Proscenium places the visitor on a drifting unseen stage. Virtual transmissions of the actors' voices steer conversations, as visions of collective images appear. A Requiem for the Theatre, Procenium's inverted darkened stage serves as the backdrop for a work where the Theatre is playing itself.
