A man sits on stage, engaged in an act of ritual self-flagellation, which is periodically interrupted (for the intake of water, the readjustment of the accompanying sound-track, moments of doubt and re-formation) and thus never reaches the level of passionate intensity it is meant to induce. Around this central focus, the stage is in a constant state of flux, with more bodies, objects, actions being added or removed, different contexts and moods being created, only to be superseded by others. The piece ends without climax or conclusion.
