T2036653964Pegasus patron, comedian [Mark Thomas] opens a full weekend of entertainment and celebration to mark the temporary closure of Pegasus Theatre the much-loved venue in East Oxford, for a little more than a year. During this time, the old breeze-block premises will be transformed into the region's premiere centre for youth arts, new performing artists and training for work in cultural industries. As a theatre embedded in its community, the celebrations contain plenty of opportunities for local involvement including free workshops, an evening lantern parade, fireworks and a tea party with live street entertainment. Each morning from Friday 3rd April the theatre will be open for visitors to drop in for quiet reflection and to share personal memories through writing in a special commemorative book or filming on camera. Each evening, a raffle of donated prizes will be drawn while the theatre and its foyer bar will remain open for the party to continue.Performer Mark Thomas. | |
