As fresh and dynamic as a live gig, this flamboyant show sees eight artists from the worlds of music, mixed-media, spoken word and theatre take a shared journey into Afrofuturism. An eclectic mix of projected film, fantasy art, poetic lyricism and improvised interventions are set to the sounds of free jazz, electronic hip-hop and psychedelic funk played live. Lady Vendredi and Roney FM are the irrepressible hosts, enlivening interludes between short performances that unfold to a musical backdrop. With Benji Reid, one of the country's most daring directors of physical, visual and musical theatre, at the creative helm, the collective informally explores Afrofuturism. This philosophy transforms past and present experiences of the African Diaspora into alternative visions of the future through an empowering combination of culture, art, technology, free expression and the imagination.
