Letter from Alice is a programme of words, song and images based on George W Knighton's First World War diary written in the trenches. It charts the growing love for his sweetheart Alice against a backdrop of the horrors of war. Diary extracts, poems, songs both popular and serious and images of WW1 paintings and film bring this moving story to life. Letter from Alice is conceived by Erica Knighton as a tribute to her grandfather. Poems by - Edmund Blunden, Ivor Gurney, Yvan Goll, William Klemm. Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon and Edward Thomas. Songs by - Parry, Ireland, Butterworth, Poulenc and Lili Boulanger
