"I celebrate myself, and sing myself, and what I assume you shall assume, For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you."Song of Myself, Walt Whitman HUG is an interactive sound performance for 30 people at a time, an immersive encounter that acts as a passing moment of intimacy and reflection. Audience members are led into a pitch-black space and individually hugged by a singer. The audience stands unable to gauge their surroundings, experiencing only through the sound, breath and vibrations of the body as the 30 voices deliver the song. The piece of music is heard from the inside out, kinaesthetically driven to push and pull at the listeners' comfort boundaries and aural sensitivities.
