A night of true tales of murder, crime, horror and ghosts from Norfolk's past: Have you ever wondered about the darker side of Norfolk s history? If you have, and if you have the stomach for it, then join us for a night of stories that will thrill and chill in the true spirit of Victorian gothic horror. Your narrator and guide is the county s very own master of the macabre, Neil R. Storey - the creator of the Grim Almanac series of books. You will journey through over 500 years of dark deeds, bloody crimes and punishments. From the 'evidence table you will see how scolding women were quietened, learn the methods of the Witchfinder General, observe the chains and restraints used on prisoners in the past, see the exhibits which brought some notorious criminals to trial and find out what really happened if you kept your appointment with the executioner. After the interval the stories change from a cornucopia of crime to dark and horrible tales from the dead of night. Here be phantoms and poltergeists, ghosts infamous and chilling from across the county from devil dogs and headless spectres to bodysnatchers and spirits that returned to haunt those who damned them... from beyond the grave. This is not a night for the faint hearted ... come spend Halloween with us... if you dare!
