Each...and Every Inch is an intimate and multi-sensory journey that celebrates the multi-faceted and extraordinary life and work of the late Canadian author and poet Elizabeth Smart ('By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept'). Smart's life was one of extremes. Each...and Every Inch combines music, text, visuals, a live cello duet, 3D video and ambient sound installations in an intimate multi-media performance that reveals her passions and her secrets. In this promenade production Theatre Cryptic, one of three companies performing at the inaugural showcase of Scottish theatre at Scotland's Theatre Gateway, Elm Row, will guide small groups of up to 12 people through a series of intimate spaces at 10 minute intervals between 14:00 and 17:00 from 9 to 29 August (previews 7 & 8 August). This unique journey promises passion, sensuality, seduction and destruction, giving audiences the opportunity to discover Elizabeth Smart's fantasies, obsessions, secrets, jealousy, and gardening madness.
