Details
Rabindranath Tagore (1861 - 1941) was a legendary Bengali polymath and the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in 1913 for Literature. He remains the only figure to have composed lyrics for the national anthems of two countries: India and Bangladesh. Join The Tagoreans, the oldest Bengali cultural organisation based in the UK, as they explore the creative work of Tagore and its impact on the national identity of India. The evening will include songs, poems and excerpts from plays and dance dramas in Tagore's original Bengali compositions as well as in English.
