Samson and Delilah (Samson Et Dalila)

Samson and Delilah (Samson Et Dalila)

Work:: Samson and Delilah (Samson Et Dalila) (S2081)

In the well-known tale taken from the Old Testament's Book of Judges, Samson, one of the oppressed Jews, displays a unique strength when he kills Abimelech, one of the ruling Philistines. With Samson already under the spell of the beautiful Dalila, the High Priest of Dagon has her use her allure to discover the secret of Samson's power. Betrayed by Dalila and overpowered by the Philistines, Samson is paraded in his weakness into the temple. With a final prayer to God, enough strength returns for him to bring the temple crashing down on the heads of his enemies.

Production:: (T980492603)

A singing chorus cries stories from an ancient past. From one man's hair hang the lives of so many; but with all his strength will it be beauty that breaks him? A desperate Delilah plays a dangerous game weaving love, and lies, until she finds the root of her passion. An endless war unites two people. Will they crumble as it falls; or stand buckled in its wake? A frantically physical show about the frailty of strength, and the power of seduction.
