Inspired by the plays of Frederico Garcia Lorca, Paul Weir's modern opera for string quartet, piano and voice evokes the moods and passions of Lorca's world. The evening continues with three experimental opera pieces: Ruth - an opera in progress based on the biblical figure; a short piece inspired by the writings of Yiddish writer, Isaac Bashevis Singer and from Australian composer Alison Bauld, Banquo's Buried - a ten minute opera sung by Lady Macbeth.
