Conducted by Opera North's Music Director Garry Walker and woven together by acclaimed opera director Olivia Fuchs, Cautionary Tales features contemporary opera scenes from some of today's most celebrated composers including: Tom Coult, Tansy Davies, Jonathan Dove, Søren Nils Eichberg, Elena Kats-Chernin, Steven Mackey, Errollyn Warren and Judith Weir. Surreal, witty and thought-provoking, these tales of transformation deal with the tensions of contemporary life. They cover a diverse range of subject matters from climate change and animal rights to artificial intelligence and gender identity with humour and compassion.
