Some time in early 2001, Richard Thomas sat down at an age-worn BAC piano and tentatively suggested that American trash TV might make a great opera. He gave a can of beer to everyone in the audience who came up with a good idea. The obscene ideas that emerged from this haze eventually became Jerry Springer: the Opera. Now he's got his hands on a job lot of lager off the back of a lorry and "A Beer for an Idea" returns. This time Richard's warming up his musical muscles in the boxing ring. A good idea gets a can of Stella. A bad idea gets a can of Skol. Who knows what might happen this time round?
