Robin Deacon - White Balance: A History of Video

Robin Deacon

Work:: Robin Deacon (S0473545621)

Production:: White Balance: A History of Video (T0866207648)

Weaving together autobiographical stories, fiction and old recordings, Robin Deacon explores how the way we see and remember events can be transformed by the very medium on which they have been captured. Using vintage equipment and formats, he splices his spoken narrative with home movies, artist tapes and archival footage to consider the role of video in our perception of memory and truth. A British artist based in Chicago whose work spans documentary making, performance art and lecture, Deacon's show is named after the process by which a camera is adjusted for differences in light, infusing images with a tone and quality suggestive of a moment in time.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
