Details
Between 1911 and 1921, when she was in her 60s and 70s, Ellen Terry toured Britain, Australia, and America with four lectures. They were immensely popular in their day, and welcomed as an important contribution to the study of Shakespeare. Eileen Atkins has taken two of these lectures, The Triumphant Women in Shakespeare and The Pathetic Women in Shakespeare, and compressed them into one. They are as relevant today as they were 100 years ago.
