Symbol of Love archiveA timeless love story set against a colourful backdrop of the English Civil War, the action takes place over a period of four years, commencing just before the battle of Naseby in 1645, and reaching its tragic climax on the morning of King Charles 1 beheading in 1649. The Parliamentary uprising of the seventeenth century changed the course of English history. It was a time of deceit, betrayal and bitter uncertainty, uniquely paralleling the heartbreaking story of two young people who chose the wring moment in time to fall in love. Sprinkled with humour and moments of high drama, and brimming with vibrant songs, many of which will tear at the heartstrings, 'Symbol of Love' is destined to remain a favourite with theatre goers for many years to come.
