Inspired by the story of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Release the Beat is a musical set in contemporary London clubland and Ibiza. Two DJ's battle it out for the affections of the same girl. We follow Simone's journey as she struggles to deal with her dominant father, the mother who left her, and the two boys who are fighting over her. A funny, moving musical that fuses the conventions of the great book musicals of the past, with the Hip Hop, House and Breakbeat rhythms of today.
