Tells the tale of Edmond Dantes, falsely accused of treason and imprisoned on an island fortress from which he finally makes a dramatic escape. Discovering a fabulous hidden treasure he returns to Paris as the mysterious Count, from which hidden identity he begins to wreak revenge upon his enemies.
