Damn Yankees

Damn Yankees

Work:: Damn Yankees (S1473)

A 1955 update of the Faust legend set in the world of Baseball. Joe Boyd is a happily married man in love with a disastrous baseball team (Washington Senators). One year he offers his soul to have one good hitter and the mysterious Mr Applegate accepts and makes him a 22 year old superstar (Joe Hardy). Applegate's attempt to restrain the success (via his siren Lola) fails and Joe starts to miss his wife. Applegate attempts to foil Joe's attempt to both win the pennant and escape via the contract get-out clause but all is well in the end.
