Colette Collage

Colette Collage

Work:: Colette Collage (S01883484367)

Colette Collage explores the life, loves and losses of this grande dame of French culture, from her seduction by renowned raconteur and author Willy at seventeen to her death, marked by the first ever state funeral for a woman, at eighty. The show tells the tale of a fascinating woman, "a mass of contradictions", who has been called the most truly liberated woman of the twentieth century and yet was dominated, manipulated and humiliated by the first two of her three husbands. Through beautiful melodies and haunting lyrics, we see the three ages of Colette, as she progresses from innocent country girl to Parisienne elite and author of over seventy books, plays, operas and films, including Gigi, later the classic Lerner and Loewe musical.
