Oper Opis (Something Someone)

Work:: Oper Opis (Something Someone) (S801837585)

Production:: Zimmermann & de Perrot (Switzerland) (T0936545538)

Opening the 2010 London International Mime Festival, Öper Öpis (Something Someone) is a mix of visual arts, circus, music and dance. Choreographed and led by the rubber-limbed Martin Zimmermann, the company features some of Europe’s top young circus artists including Cirque Aital’s colossal Victor Cathala and his diminutive acrobat partner Kati Pikkarainen. On a precariously tilting, unstable floor a daredevil game of shifting relationships, balance and control unfolds. Driven by composer/DJ Dimitri de Perrot’s fabulous live scratched soundscore, every move is a risk, every step a challenge and everyone’s perspective distorted. 70mins with no interval. CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
