You Can't Say You Can't Play
Work:: You Can't Say You Can't Play (S01547690121)
The play tells how one teacher used the stories of children and her own creativity to tackle the issue of exclusion. Music, puppetry and visual imagery will lead the audience on a journey from the familiar world of the classroom into the kingdom of the tall pines, where a bird and a young witch befriend a boy, and help him release his father from the dragons. Based on the book by renowned American teacher Vivian Gussin Paley this production will be of particular interest to young children, teachers, parents and carers. It raises important questions about the role that theatre and storytelling can play in teaching young children how to interact with each other and their parents and children.
