At home the lazybones and dreamer Shlemiel, whose wife sells vegetables in the market, keeps an eye on the children and dreams of the big outside world. All Shlemiel can ever think about is leaving his dreary old town to Chelm to visit the bright lights of Warsaw. One day when he can wait no longer Shlemiel decides to make his dream come true and he sets out for the city of his dreams. The adventure he starts out on makes him - and us - realise that whether you travel East or West, sometimes home is best!
