A play for 7 year olds and upwards, exploring the notion of fame and celebrity. Why are some of us obsessed with fame? And to what lengths are we prepared to go in order to get it? Five lucky contestants have made it through competitive heats to form a new pop group and now face the final challenge - to write and release their first single, against the clock! The action will be transmitted live across the country to hoards of viewers hooked on reality TV...but do any of them possess any kind of talent? As the contestants struggle to explore their own self worth, is the competition really providing a fast track to fame or are other motives at work? Idle Pop website.
