Refusing to succumb to pressures from a recording company that want the rights to his songs then getting into trouble running marijuana for the island's drug bosses. Ivanhoe may run out of places to hide but his free spirit proves an inspiration to the people. A terrific, richly textured portrait of Jamaican society magnificently moved along by a soundtrack of reggae classics played by Cliff, The Melodians, Desmond Dekker, and Toots and the Maytels.
