Having shown at the Viper Media Festival and Stanford University, 'Refresh' aims to transform the outmoded, utilitarian function of the screen saver into a digital form of public art. The result is a collection of 22 artist-produced screen savers that are both compelling works of art and functional computer programs. The screen savers use the internet, digital video, narrative, painting, graphics and animation to create them. 'Refresh' also features older work from Jenny Holtzer's 'Lustmord' as well as work from Peter Halley and James Buckhouse, who will be included in this year s Whitney Biennial.
