The breath-taking Cocteau - inspired audio-visual collaboration between artist and musician Fabian Chiquet and Haus der Elektronischen (HeK) is set to reach London this October. Combining music, dance and video art - a HeK speciality - the performance has been created to invite audiences to ?get lost in an energy-charged audio-visual world' whilst sightseeing amidst the anxieties of modern life. Whereas the music includes English lyrics, there is no dialogue in this performance, and no acted passages to guide the audience through the experience; this is rather a 'compression of the different disciplines,' as Chiquet would have it, where music and the aesthetic experience unite to deliver an immersive encounter. While the production shares the name of Jean Cocteau's 1921 ballet, this is not a direct adaptation, but rather a contemporary interpretation: inspired by Cocteau's vision, but rendering something anew.
