The finale to the 'Paint the Town Red Arts Festival: Enjoy the sensual experience of the distinctive samba-reggae rhythms from Bahia in Brasil through music and dance. Batala have already achieved national recognition for their performances, which include Notting Hill, Canterbury and Salvador carnivals. At the dance workshops, you will discover what makes samba-reggae one of the most enjoyable and accessible forms of latin carnival dance. Led by professional instructor Flavio de Brito from Brasil and Djenane de Vermeulen from Venezuela, you will get as close to the region's Afro-Brasilian roots as its possible to get this side of the Atlantic! This is your chance to strut your stuff and swing your hips. A full band with over twenty musicians - the arts centre will be booming and a bopping. If you need a helping hand then sign up for the Samba Dance Class beforehand. Two left feet or slinky mover - everyone is welcome to join in the hot, sweaty fun! Cocktails will be flowing and a delicious supper can be booked in advance.
