On These Streets sees Brixton House team up with artists' group non zero one, writer Somalia Nonye Seaton and sound artist XANA. It uses voices of the April 1981 Uprising to guide participants through the streets of Brixton and invite them to witness, interact, and personally respond along the way. On These Streets is part of 81 Acts of Exuberant Defiance, a radical reclaiming of heritage - to imagine, experiment and create new futures. Acclaimed writer Somalia Nonyé Seaton weaves fiction with words from verbatim testimony throughout this reflective yet urgent journey. This unique collaboration sees interactive specialists non zero one team up with Seaton, XANA and award-winning app developers All Seeing Eye. Together they combine their skills to create an experience far beyond a history tour, where participants are asked to consider why the forces behind the Uprising are as relevant today, in 2021, as they have ever been.
