Three children caught up in the war raging in a futuristic London take shelter in a theatre, where the Stage Door Keeper befriends them and starts to tell a story. Soon they are in another world - one of fantasy and drama, based on the famous Arabian Nights tales, with the adventures of sultans and genies, princes and princesses. The sounds and sights of the streets and markets in Syria today have inspired elements of Paul Englishby’s music and Tuckett’s choreography, while the set designs conjure magic carpets and caves of treasure out of rubble. From reality to fantasy is only a small step - and Christmas is the best time to take it... Suitable for children aged 8+.
