Summerdance - 2013

Work:: Summerdance (S0175621498)

Production:: 2013 (T01703764568)

summerdance is an intensive week long course that offers talented young performers the opportunity to work with dancers from National Dance Company Wales and to perform together in a brand new demanding piece created during the week. The centrepiece of the performance will be presented by the summerdance 2013 company of 40 young dancers, with music by Jak Poore played by young players working with Welsh National Opera. The piece will be complemented by performances from Rubicon Dance's second year full-time students and NuWorx their flagship street dance ensemble. The summerdance 2013 project is a partnership between Cardiff Council's Arts Active team, NDCWales and Welsh National Opera and is part of an ongoing initiative for youth dance development in Cardiff. This course, which was first presented at the New Theatre in 1997, is reinvigorated this year with the introduction of Rubicon Dance to the partnership.
