Stillen - Lotte van den Berg

Work:: Stillen (S776566574)

Production:: Lotte van den Berg (T01988278505)

UK Premiere. Award-winning director Lotte van den Berg is considered one of a new generation of artists described as the ‘young Dutch minimalists’. Stillen is a wordless meditation on the silent games people play, sometimes tender and sometimes cruel. Focusing on the relationships between six performers, Stillen explores the power of movement with an intensity that is alternately uplifting and forlorn. Resisting categorisation, van den Berg’s work can nevertheless be characterised by a pared-down style and devoted attention to detail. Preferring to do without texts, her work sits between the worlds of mime, dance and theatre – creating a bold, fresh performance style which comes to the UK for the first time.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
