Resolution! 2015 - Ishimoi by Ishimwa/Anders Duckworth/Suse Tietjen
Work:: Resolution! 2015 (S0652924475)
Resolution! is The Place's annual festival of new works presented by a range of diverse emerging dance-artists.
Production:: Ishimoi by Ishimwa/Anders Duckworth/Suse Tietjen (T01366281266)
Niyizi - What if a dress is all you need to express or impress? What if a pair of blue socks is all the make-up you need? Niyizi looks at why we cling on to particular ideas and how they make us feel.
Projected - Two characters seem to have emerged from another world, the world of celluloid. Seeing their projected memories realised unearths questions of what is 2D or 3D, fantasy or reality. An exciting collaboration between Anders Duckworth and the sound artist Chris Edwards, Projected draws inspiration from our brief relationship with the celluloid image and our ability to be able to understand a string of still images as a real universe. Anders works with dancers Jenna Broas and Eleni Papaioannou to turn the projected image into a reality.
The End Is Important in All Things - a collection of two short stories about curious interhuman relations and deathly ways of procreation in the animal kingdom. As the audience will find themselves reminded of dauntingly familiar scenes from their personal lives and from the bushes of their backyard garden, the boundaries between human and animal behaviour will coalesce to become a non-linear arrangement of dance and theatre, suggesting that to make an end is to make a beginning (T.S.Eliot). Duration: 90mins
