Rambert Dance Company - PreSentient/Living Toys/Elsa Canasta

Rambert Dance Company

Work:: Rambert Dance Company (S887)

Britain's biggest and most exciting touring dance company who often tour two programmes at a time. Dancing to a mixture of musical styles they provide enormously watchable evenings.
Company Rambert Dance Company

Production:: PreSentient/Living Toys/Elsa Canasta (T710403207)

PreSentient is the latest award-winning work to be created for the Company by the celebrated British choreographer Wayne McGregor. Performed at incredible speed and precision by 12 dancers, PreSentient is a physically audacious piece that is performed to Steve Reich's kinetic score Triple Quartet, played live by Rambert's Associate Orchestra London Musici. Living Toys, Karole Armitage's first creation for Rambert, transports us into that precarious and surreal world where dreams and consciousness merge. Inspired by Thomas Ades dark and sinister score (again played live by London Musici), this large-scale work uses all of Rambert's dancers and promises to be a visual feast. Elsa Canasta is a new piece created by the flamboyant choreographer Javier De Frutos and is performed to music and songs by Cole Porter, including a rarely heard jazz-ballet score composed in 1923.
