Raiford Rogers Modern Ballet - Ex Machina/Cabin Fever

Raiford Rogers Modern Ballet

Work:: Raiford Rogers Modern Ballet (S1567919741)

Choreographer Raiford Rogers' eclectic, risk-taking ballets have asserted themselves as vibrant, fresh and adult. Deeply rooted in the city which inspires it, Raiford Rogers Modern Ballet is a vital and major new dance voice from Los Angeles. The company is made up of principal dancers from many of North America's most prestigious companies, who are recruited by Rogers during the summer months to present these 'breakout works'.

Production:: Ex Machina/Cabin Fever (T331438586)

Ex Machina is a new collaboration between Rogers and electronic composer Carlos Rodriguez. Two dancers in business suits explore the animality beneath the veneer of modern materialism. Rodriguez' composition is here enhanced by the onstage participation of electric cello virtuoso Matt Cooker. Cabin Fever is a dance vehicle for LA satirist Sandra Tsing-Loh's darkly comic musings on the unsavoury neuroses lurking behind the Beverley Hills bathing beauties. Music by Sandra Tsing Loh and Amon Tobin, swimsuits by Chanel!
