After an epic opening of determinedly false starts a series of impassioned solos follows, but nothing is quite what it seems. Solid sculptures start to move, gentle spinning becomes a dangerous compulsion, and calm is interrupted. It is Annie Hanauer and Lora Juodkaite's distinctive physicalities that finally unite them in these raw and captivating self-portraits, threaded with emotion. French Algerian Rachid Ouramdane is co-director of CCN2-Centre chor?graphique national de Grenoble. His work frequently blurs the lines between dance and documentary, between public performance and private contemplation - achieved here with a refreshing simplicity of means.
