Platform A.D.

Platform A.D.

Work:: Platform A.D. (S01012252606)

Platform A.D. was created in August 2010 by Holly Noble, Artistic Director of A.D. Dance Company, Associate Dance Artist with English National Ballet and Artistic Director of English National Ballet's youth company. The platform aims to help and provide emerging dance companies, of all genres, the opportunity to showcase their work in the beautiful surroundings of The Actors Church in Covent Garden as well as providing a regular platform for dancers and choreographers to participate in. Along with offering choreographers a unique opportunity we also hope that the platform gives people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to come and explore and be involved with exciting new and innovative dance.

Production:: (T351016433)

A three night choreographic platform presenting dance from five dramatically different dance companies that showcases the best in new UK choreographic talent and performance. For this platform we will be presenting innovative work from Gary Clark in collaboration with all male youth dance company, Edge FWD. This Liverpool based company will be performing "A Beautiful Hell" a piece which explores the notion of exclusion and what its like to be an outsider. A thought provoking new work from CODA Dance, first performed at Resolution! 2012 "You remind me of someone I once knew" is a moving portrayal of perspectives of grief after a mother's diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Young emerging male dance company, UdifyDance, present a new take at how social networks affect our decisions and choices with their entertaining work 'And when we move.....'. Working with their unique movement style, 3 male dancers explore the relationship the sentence has on each other as well as alone. 4:14 choreographed by Hanily Bendell and Thomas Pickard, is a captivating story of travel and love in 1930's New York. Inspired by historical accounts, film and vintage style 4:14 is an encounter, which leaves a lasting impression.
