Work:: Phoenix Dance Theatre (S876)

Phoenix Dance Company are one of the leading exponents of contemporary dance.
Company Phoenix Dance Theatre

Production:: New Work/See Blue Through (T825605231)

Brazilian Henrique Rodovalho makes his UK debut with a commission for Phoenix. His sinuous movement, laced with humour, emotion and an influence from copoeira martial arts, is set against a shifting world of film projections and traditional South American beats. The programme includes a further premiere from Javier De Frutos, whose Nopalitos brought exquisite, emotionally charged choreography to the us in 2006. Javier recently choreographed for Rambert and the hit West End musical Cabaret. Finally, Didy Veldman's See Blue Through is inspired by the mysteries of underwater life, challenging the limitations of the human body with a fluidity that transforms seven dancers into undulating creatures that seem suspended in water.
