The Mark Morris Dance Group was formed in 1980 and gave its first concert in that year in New York. In the following years, the company s touring schedule has steadily expanded to include cities across America and Europe. Once considered the bad boy of the modern dance world, Mark Morris is now an influential and internationally celebrated choreographer whose pieces have become the standard of creativity for a new generation of dancers, choreographers and critics.

Morris's world premiere is a full company work set to Robert Schumann's sublime Quintet in E flat opus 44. I Don't Want to Love (1996) illuminates the romance of seven madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi. Peccadillos (2000) is a solo piece for the choreographer himself, set to children's piano pieces by Erik Satie. Grand Duo (1993) - a thundering work for 14 dancers.
