Kate McIntosh - All Natural

Kate McIntosh

Work:: Kate McIntosh (S01964064394)

Production:: All Natural (T2101872063)

Kate McIntosh's powerful solo performance flickers between stand-up comedy and an unsettling Vegas dance routine. The showgirl on stage seems to have emerged from a month lost in the forest - muddy, dishevelled and more animal than human. She brings to life imaginary characters and destroys them, as some odd rituals develop. Along the way there's a pregnancy, an exploding biscuit, foreign accents and surgical procedures. As each scenario crumbles, a gap emerges, revealing someone strangely vulnerable. Uncertainty and an unmet expectation become apparent. This woman's insistent contact with the audience isn't just entertainment; it's a visceral search for the limits on how to interact honestly with fellow human beings.
