In Pieces - Tim Etchells

Work:: In Pieces (S226203773)

Production:: Tim Etchells (T0671474694)

Co-commissioned by Sadler's Wells, in pieces is a brand new collaboration between internationally renowned director, author and artistic director of Forced Entertainment Tim Etchells and Rosas dancer Fumiyo Ikeda. Directed by Etchells and performed as a solo by Ikeda, in pieces combines movement, dance, written text and improvised speech to explore the concept of memory, of remembering and forgetting, as experiences are felt and articulated by the body and as they are made manifest in language. By turns comical, puzzling and emotional, the work is formed out of fragments of remembered phrases, movements, narratives, emotional states, music and songs. Through these seemingly disparate elements Etchells and Ikeda explore the chain reactions that lead from one memory to the next, from one person to another, from the performer to the spectator.
