Hofesh Shechter Company - In Your Rooms/Uprising

Hofesh Shechter Company

Work:: Hofesh Shechter Company (S0332854759)

Sadler's Wells Associate Artist Hofesh Shechter is one of the UK's most exciting contemporary artists, having gained international renown for his raw, honest choreography and highly-charged, atmospheric music scores. The international dancers of Hofesh Shechter Company have achieved worldwide renown
Choreographer Hofesh Shechter

Production:: In Your Rooms/Uprising (T016734756)

In Your Rooms brims with playful, gritty physicality. Provocative, political and deeply personal, it presents a society which is scarily alienating and yet shockingly familiar. Shechter has assembled a formidable cast of nine performers who reveal their shifting motives, their lack of control and their vulnerabilities through intricate, touching encounters. The work has an original score created by Shechter in collaboration with Nell Catchpole (The Gogmagogs). The evening also includes Uprising, described by The Herald as, "pure pleasure". Seven men emerge from the shadows to bombard the stage with their edgy energy, bonding and sparring, making up and falling out. A highly charged short work with a propulsive, percussive score written by Shechter himself that leaves audiences buzzing.
