Production:: Anniversary Tour:Modern - Front Line/White Space/Falling/Finale (T718080981)

Henri Oguike Dance Company, winner of Critics' Circle National Dance Awards 2007 celebrates its 10th anniversary with a retrospective programme of some of the best works by award-winning choreographer Henri Oguike. Featuring live music from the The Pavão Quartet (Classical Brit Award Nominees 2008) and a screening of Oguike's mesmerising dance-film Falling. Oguike's signature piece, the searing and poignant Front Line opens the evening. This critically acclaimed sextet is performed to Shostakovich's 9th Quartet, played live by the Pavão Quartet. By contrast, Scarlatti's bright and rhythmic pieces for harpsichord provide the starting point for White Space, a stylish septet in which music, movement and visuals interplay. Next, Falling, a groundbreaking dance-film directed by Dan Farberoff and inspired by NASA astronaut Steve MacLean's space walk. A moving and mesmerising duet choreographed by Oguike, featuring an original soundtrack of piano and voice by Errollyn Wallen, narration by Steve MacLean. To end - Finale, a full company work which brings pure sunshine to the stage. Set to the carnival rhythms of René Aubry's music, this joyous piece will send you home on a high!
